Willy, I have some channels without epg, see screenshot. Of course I have rebooted the stb and tried to import the epg again but without luck.
Looking at the epgimport.log I see thet the epg for the dutch channels is provided by http://91.121.106.172/~rytecepg/epg_data/rytecNL_Basic.xz
Site is reachable but may contain old epgdata?
My second et10k has the same problem.

not a big problem but an annoyance at times : there's a bug when you're scraping the websites for episode numbering : trailing zeroes are lost in the description.
viz you have the following sequence : S1E8, S1E9, S1E1, S1E11, etc ...... so S1E1 instead of S1E10.
this is true for all episodes numbered SnnEx0 (Snn season seems OK, but all episodes ending on 0 loose the 0.
would be worth fixing this .......

Make EPGimport non case-sensitive
With the current version of EPGimport the channel-id used is case sensitive, so for EPGimport: France2.fr or FRANCE2.fr as channel-id is not the same.
Could this be made case insensitive on the channel-id?
I never assigned knowingly a EPGref which differed just on the case. So making it case independent should only improve things.
I remember searching for hours on a channel which did not have EPG, and it should, only to discover one letter was in a different case.
About the implementation:
You have to realize there are 2 importers in the plug-in. One in python for the non-patched images, And one written in C++ for the patched images like OpenPLi.
You have to adapt both.
Or you maybe can get away with converting the case to let say lowercase of the <channel id="ESPN2.us"> tag in the channels file and XMLTV files and the channel="Cine12.mu" tag in the XMLTV file before you pass on the files to the actual importer, which can be either one.
I think this is however not the road we should take. But maybe it is the easy way out.

Make EPGimport search for custom.channels.xml file
These days, several users have their own channels file for some extra channels. IPTV channels mainly.
Some of these channels are freely available on the net. And can be played on an enigma2 receiver.
(Some use this also to receive illegal IPTV channels)
In order to provide EPG for these channels, at the moment you need to add separate import to the sources file with you own "custom.channels.xml" file
The drawback is that you then download the data files twice which is bad, I agree.
A solution is that the extra channels are integrated it your own rytec.channels.xml. But you lose to advantage of the on-line update of the rytec.channels.xml file.
So the idea, is to expand EPGimport capability: it will use the normal channels file defined in the rytec.sources.xml file" but also use "at the same time" the file "custom.channels.xml" from the folder /etc/epgimport/ so the data file are only downloaded once and EPG are applied both to rytec and custom channels.
This can be accomplished by merging the downloaded channels file with the custom.channels.xml file before the actual import. But any other solution is of course welcome
This modification is above my pay grade. Any help (mainly doing it yourself) is welcome.
Can anybody change the XMLTVimport plug-in to perform this?

I am hoping that you can help, I have a number of US IPTV streams added to my OpenATV image and I am struggling to understand how I can add epg information to them, for the UK ones it is pretty simple to use echanneliser and assign the epg in there, however this doesn't work for the US ones.
I can get the epg data from http://zap2it.com/ and can generate a clean looking xml file from it using http://zap2xml.awardspace.info/ but I can't figure out how I can get that data imported into my epg.
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I have my private xmltv files which I create on my server and compress as .gz
Today on my vu+ ultimo 4k with openpli 6.2 after I ran software update the EPGimport ignores my private source.
I checked the log file and I can see errors
download failed: [Errno 2] No such file or directory:
I have verified that the link is correct and furthermore - I ran in the box telnet the command wget with the same link and the file was downloaded without a problem.
Any idea?
Most of the guides are for assigning rytec sources to work for us iptv. In my case Im actually viewing channels on cband satellite where there is no guide. I have done some reading but still dont know how to
get the epg going for my dm900 and what would be the best epg importer to use. Im not new to the dreambox but the assignment of channels from sources is a little over my head. I do have notepad++ and echannelizer.
Some help would surely be appreciated as Im dying to get a working guide on my box. Thanks in advance...
