The subject says it all. No EPG via the plugin.

Both, CD + Ziggo suffer this issue. Issue in the grabber or at Fox Sport?

Update of the XMLTV sources

In the new setup of the sources for EPGimport there many more smaller xmltv files. Giving the user more choice what to import, without having to select large files for only a few channels.

f.i users in France which want the schedule of the Swiss channels, can simply select the Suisse Basic file.  This will then load the small Suisse Basic file.

Also there is a fairly small German Basic file which contains the German National channels which are mostly FTA on 19.2E

Basically the country files will be split up into at least 3 categories:

1. Basic - meaning the national channels.  In the UK case this is Freeview.  In Italy the DTT channels - minus the premium channels

Other countries are my own interpretation what are national channels.  Of course I am open to improvements on this

2. Sport and Movies.  These are the Movie Channels and Sport Channels for which an extra subscription is needed.

Eurosport remains in one of the other categories.

3. Other channels.

For some countries more categories have been divised.  Like shared channels between Belgium and France, and shared channels between Belgium and The Netherlands.

I am open to suggestions, if channels have been placed into the wrong section.

In the selection screen you will notice the strange combination of France/ Belgium and the Netherlands.  This is due to that strange country "Belgium".

Flanders and The Netherlands share a number of channels. Wallonie and Flanders share a number of channels, and Wallonie and France share channels.  In order to avoid that people start selecting the same source twice, I had to group them together, and list each source only once.

Sources which not have been converted are still listed under the heading:  XMLTV Old style

You will also notice that at the bottom of the list there is an xz section.  In OPenPLi 6.1 RC xz files will be supported.  At the moment in 6.0 with some extra software they also work.  These file are only half the size of the present files.  In OpenPLi4 you can select them, but nothing will happen.

There is no need to update your importer source in a rush.  The old style XMLTV files (also for the now converted files) will keep on working for the foreseeable future.

Willy

PS: In my own case I managed in this new setup to reduce the amount of imported events from 320 000 to 170 000 and still having all the info I want.

How to debug EPGImport 0 events issue

$

0

I'm trying to use EPGImport to download and update the EPG data for my IPTV stream.

Have it all configured but it always exits with 0 events found.

What I've checked so far is that the Source is configured correctly in EPGImport.

When I perform a manual import of Sources I can see that the file /tmp/epgimport (around 35Mb) gets downloaded/created. It then processes the file which is when it seems to find no matching events?

[XMLTVImport] WakeUpTime now set to 1609482008 (now=1609436954)
[EPGImport] nextImport, source= IPTV
[EPGImport] Downloading: https://IPTV.uk:443/xmltv.php?username=user&password=password&next_days=2 to local path: /tmp/epgimport
[EPGImport] afterDownload /tmp/epgimport
[EPGImport] unlink /tmp/epgimport
[EPGImport] afterChannelDownload None
[EPGImport] Using twisted thread
[XMLTVConverter] Enumerating event information
[EPGImport] ### thread is ready ### Events: 0
[EPGImport] imported 0 events
[XMLTVImport] Save last import date and count event
[XMLTVImport] Run check deep standby after import
[EPGImport] #### Finished ####
[XMLTVImport] WakeUpTime now set to 1609482008 (now=1609436992)
[XMLTVImport] WakeUpTime now set to 1609482008 (now=1609436998)

Is there a way to be able to enable further logging or even debugging the problem I'm seeing? Or is there a way I can run the step XMLTVConverter manually to see if it errors? Also why does it, from the logs does it unlink the file straight after downloading it, I've looked at the code for EPGImport and see that it does read the file before the unlink command so I'd assume that the file at that point has been loaded into memory/buffer?

The frustrating thing is that it did used to work until last week when my box crashed and since the restart it's just failed and I can't figure out why.

Lastly, I know the above is about IPTV so apologies if talk/help isn't allowed or can't be given.

Lots of changes and missing EPG

Hi Willy,

I was cleaning up the changed Czech/Slovak channels on 23.5 and noticed that a lot is missing or wrong.

I also checked the same channels in Czech or Slovak language on other satellites (at least the one I can receive, 16E, 4.8E and 0.8/1.0W).

I checked the EPG with erasing all EPG and then importing Rytec Slovak/Czech XMLT only.

It is quite a list, I guess it's easier if I send you the Excel file I used.

I hope it's not too much and that everything is clear, otherwise just ask.

Greetings,

Alex
